How does the free tier work?

The free tier includes 30 minutes of AI transcription per month. Usage resets on the 1st of each month. You can record unlimited audio, but only 30 minutes will be transcribed each month. Recordings are always saved locally on your device.

What's the difference between Free and Pro?

Free: 30 min/month transcription using Android Speech Recognition, basic AI categorization.

Pro: Unlimited transcription using OpenAI Whisper (99% accuracy), GPT-4 powered categorization, priority support, and no monthly limits.

Where are my recordings stored?

All recordings and transcripts are stored locally on your device. We do not upload your recordings to our servers in the current version. This ensures maximum privacy and security.

Can I cancel my Pro subscription?

Yes! You can cancel anytime through Google Play:

1. Open Google Play Store app
2. Tap Menu → Subscriptions
3. Select Vocly Pro
4. Tap "Cancel subscription"

You'll retain Pro features until the end of your current billing period.

How accurate is the transcription?

Free tier: Uses Android's built-in speech recognition. Accuracy varies based on audio quality and accent (~85-90%).

Pro tier: Uses OpenAI Whisper AI with up to 99% accuracy in ideal conditions. Works better with clear audio and minimal background noise.

Does Vocly work offline?

Recording: Works 100% offline.
Free transcription: Requires internet (Android Speech Recognition).
Pro transcription: Requires internet (OpenAI Whisper API).

Can I export my recordings?

Yes! You can share individual recordings via the share button in the app. The audio file and transcript can be sent to other apps (email, messaging, cloud storage, etc.).

What happens if I uninstall the app?

Since all data is stored locally, uninstalling the app will delete all your recordings and transcripts. Make sure to export important recordings before uninstalling.

Is my data private and secure?

Yes! Your recordings are stored locally and never uploaded to our servers. For Pro users, audio is sent to OpenAI's Whisper API for transcription via encrypted HTTPS connection and is not retained after processing. See our Privacy Policy for details.

Which Android versions are supported?

Vocly requires Android 8.0 (API 26) or higher. For best performance, we recommend Android 10 or newer.
